Our Paralegals

Mike Hulen and Ben Leutwyler are proud to introduce their two paralegals, Karen Belmont and Billie Collins. They have years of experience gained in previous law offices prior to joining our firm in 2003, and both provide our clients with experience, professionalism and compassion. Karen and Billie understand, as do Mike and Ben, the financial and emotional stresses our clients experience. We will all work hard to resolve your case as quickly and inexpensively as possible, consistent with solid professional representation.

Our paralegals can discuss with you the process, scheduling, what documents will be necessary, and when to speak with an attorney. Paralegals cannot give legal advice but their services are important in quickly moving the case forward at a cost much lower than the attorney’s fee for the same service. Karen and Billie have over 30 years of combined legal experience.

Karen Belmont and Billie Collins

Karen Belmont assists in family law cases and Social Security disability claims. An Iowa native, Karen has worked in the legal field for over 18 years. She frequently attends continuing legal education seminars relevant to family law, Social Security Disability and the management of our law office. Karen brings her professionalism, knowledge and caring attitude to our clients who are going through a tough time in their lives. Since moving to Colorado in 2001 she is taking advantage of all it has to offer and enjoys hiking, camping, canoeing, skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating and gardening. She resides in Evergreen with her husband and favorite pooch, Sophie.

Billie Collins assists in personal injury and wrongful death claims. Billie is a Colorado native and attended Colorado State University. She is a legal staff member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. She frequently attends continuing legal education seminars hosted by the Colorado Bar Association and Colorado Trial Lawyers Association relevant to personal injury claims, death claims, subrogation claims regarding health insurance and providers’ liens and navigating the Medicare maze. Billie also is an experienced remedial teacher in the Denver Metro area Lutheran schools. She has been a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1981 and has served in various offices including Chairperson of Parish Board of Education, Lutheran Valley Retreat Board of Directors, and Sunday School Teacher. Billie enjoys spending time with her husband of 30+ years, children and grandchildren, and camping, gardening, music and reading.
